You are a fan of Mercury Cyclones right? Well how about unearthing this one with the halo 429 Cobra Jet in it?

But would you be willing to sell the Camaro to get this in mint condition? That is the question

I’d sell the Jeep. And my firstborn. (lol)

Seems like a fair trade for a Cyclone

Yep, sitting in a field always rots the pans, and I don’t think they repop those. Would have to find a doner (nearly impossible) or custom fab new ones.

Probably a cusotm fab would be the key to success in this case

Nah, they make pans still! I know because I might need them for my 68 Montego. Shares floor pans with Torinos

Holy crap, I might fight you for it

WANT WANT WANT WANT
I normally don’t do beak nosed, but for a 429- not much could turn me away!
Oh, and my Montego is technically a Cyclone, it has a Cyclone Package on it.

I knew you mentioned it had a Cyclone package but I had no idea it was technically a Cyclone.
And I like the beak it is intimidating!

You said you keep antifreeze in the back of the trunk I remember way back in an old post right?

It is but it isnt haha. it’s a Montego Cyclone, this is about just a Cyclone.
I claim Cyclone though haha

See, floor pans no issue- the trim specialty pieces like the crosshair, which it thankfully it appears to have.
It appears it’s actually the same mercury floor pans from 66-71 in the front and back, so you could built a whole new floor off of dearborn classics for only about 6-700 bucks in materials.

oh btw, here’s a link to floorpans for this car.
You could build a whole new floor from Dearborn Classics for only about 6-700 bucks in materials.

I am going to consolidate all of our convo’s into this post.
That is awesome they have the supplies on dearbornclassics. Too bad they don’t have anything for a Lincoln. Your floorboards are solid right?
And smart man with the antifreeze.

Haha.
No they are not solid. I have some small holes in the front, the biggest is about the size of a baseball. It’s (hopefully) on my list to get fixed this summer. I’m not concerned with original floor boards so if the body shop can patch it up clean, I’ll take it, probably cheaper. It’s going to get carpet eventually that covers it all up so I don’t care. It’ll never be one of those “put mirrors under it at a car show” type of cars so I’m not concerned.
There might be some crossover into Lincoln you know. They shared platforms too.
And yeah I travel with Antifreeze, Oil, Power Steering Fluid and Brake Fluid. It’s a 47 year old car with a lot of original bits still on it...you just never know.

I was thinking the 70 & 71’s were different. Thanks for the clarification. It’s been a while since I looked.

Montego’s/Cyclones are...kinda my thing... hahaha
